Much of our work takes place within the dedicated Television Studio and Postproduction Complex; comprising:
1. TELEVISION STUDIO A
A 6m x 6m customisable space; retractable cyclorama (white); large blue screen facility; 30 circuit lighting rig with dimmer bank and a range of fixtures available (with assorted softboxes, cyclights, spots, parcans, profiles, floods, fresnels and a source 4 spot); acoustically tiled. Two pedestal-mounted JVC KY19 cameras with camera-mounted Portaprompt running customised BibbyCue prompring software. Additional vision sources may be added up to the capacity of the Vision Switcher in the Main Control Gallery. Comms and 12-way sound patch bay & 4-way Vision patchbay; in-ear monitor/talkback for Presenter (wired or radio).

2. MAIN CONTROL GALLERY
Fully-customised TV control gallery centred on a Grass Valley GVG 200-2 Composite Vision Switcher with E-MEMS and Streamline Effects; physical spaces for Sound Mixer, Vision Mixer, Director, VT Operator, Production Assistant, Graphics Operator, Aston Operator, Tele-prompt Operator, Lighting Operator and Producer with 6 dedicated (but patchable) Telex Comms rings controlled from the Producer’s Desk (with PA feed). Sound Mixing takes place on an Allen & Heath MixWizard 16:4:2, with additional sweetening from 4 compressors and a Lexicon Delay unit. Additional sound feed sources from installed CD playback. Local and Ambient Sound Monitoring. Analogue or Digital VT Playback from tape or other digital VT sources as desired. 11 JVC Monitor main stack, one with Panasonic Broadcast Colour Quad. Aston Motif ESP Character Generator. Scan-converted computer GFX input. Tele-prompting using dedicated custom-designed BibbyCue software. 8-way audio and video tie-lines between the main control desk and the studio patchbay for auxiliary equipment. Equipment Rack containing 6 x Video Distribution Amplifiers, Main Programme Distribution Amplifier (video & audio 10-way), 6 x Timebase Correctors with framestores, Power Distribution Unit, 8-way audio and video tie-lines to PostProduction Suite 1 and Studio B, Stereo Audio and Single Video lines to PostProduction Suite 2, Patchable comms lines to PostProduction Suites 1 & 2, Studio B, the Theatre (The Peter Barkworth Theatre) and the Art & Design Building (Greek Street) - some via RF networking. Custom designed fully automated network control system feeding a LIVE, 24/7 web TV channel. Digital Terrestrial feed throughout the complex.
3. TELEVISION STUDIO B
2m x 4m Blue-Screen studio with 4 video and 6 audio tie-lines to Studio A/PostProduction 1. Tele-prompting facilities available. 6 circuit lighting rig comprising 2 x Arri MiniCycs and 4 Arri 300W Fresnels. DVD replay available.
4. POSTPRODUCTION SUITE 1
5 x Avid MediaComposer Edit Suites with DVD authoring and full Adobe CS suite, JVC MiniDV/S-VHS combined decks with JVC monitors, one with Interactive SmartBoard for tutorials. All Edit suites and other computers are on our own internal high-speed computer network. Substantial library of archive broadcast material
5. POSTPRODUCTION SUITE 2
3 x Avid MediaComposer Non-Linear Edit Suites with DVD authoring and full Adobe CS suite, JVC Mini/DV/S-VHS combined decks with vision monitors. All connected to our own internal high-speed computer network.
6. LOCATION/OUTSIDE BROADCAST EQUIPMENT
3 x Sony V1E Professional HDV/MiniDV camcorders; 2 x Panasonic DV-X100 Professional MiniDV camcorders. 3 x Location Sound Kits comprising of Sennheiser K6/ME66 rifle mic and Rycote shockmount, basket and windjammer. 4 x Location lighting kits comprising 2 800W red heads with tripods, 13A – 16A converters, 16A splits and a range of filters/gels. 4 x Sony DXC 3000s with CCUs and long camera cables for remote racking operation, and 1 full studio zoom/demand/viewfinder kit. Very large stock of XLR and BNC cables/multicores. 1 JVC KM-2000 8 input vision switcher, 1 Panasonic MX-50 4 input vision switcher and 1 x NewTek Video Toaster: 24 input computer based TV studio (contains unlimited DDRs, Sound Mixer, Vision Switcher, DVE bank, etc). 1 x Sony HVR-15 HDV Deck. Customised jib.
7. STUDIO RECEPTION AREA
Internet access machines, water cooler, lockers and soft furnishings. Monitor for network output.
